Lens Impression

This non-aspherical Noctilux appeared in 1976 which has 7 elements, one more than Noctilux f1.2, and reduced cemented part by one. Although both are Noctilux, they are different lenses from the stand point of lens design.

This lens is the latest version of non-aspherical three kind of Noctilux(separate hood E58, separate hood E60, built-in hood E60) which have all same lens  design. The built-in hood seems almost not useful because it is too short.
The non-aspherical Noctilux use glasses with very high refraction which ,I heard, have originally reddish color, so you may see more red among the lens coatings.(to refrain from leaning to reddish???)
The atomosphic expression, smoothness of bokeh and resolution yields to f1.2, however the sharpness of the focused subject and total balance of expression of this f1.0 lens is superior.

In every time I use Noctilux lenses, I feel this f1.0 shows more straight description which is without peculiar characteristics. If I say so, somebody may feel f1.0 lens is tasteless, but it is never correct. The transparency is good, and the color appearance is wonderful, I really think this lens definitely is more comfortable to use for everybody other than twisted party. On the other hand, I think f1.2 lens shows a little too tasty description for many people. The last photo shows the world Diva Ms Diana Damrau. She plays rather comical role recently, but is very beautiful to see her in real.

These pictures show typical Noctilux expression of very neutral and gradual Bokeh. The part on focus is sharp but not too strong. Bokeh starts sudden because of f1.0 but goes very soft and smooth, which shows the high performance and possibility of Noctilus f1.0.
Reeds Castle & Canterbury
The power of modern lens can be seen on the sharpness and transparent of pictures. The pictures seem to be brighter than those taken by other lens. It is the first time to see some chromatic(color) abberation on the 1st picture.

The fucused subject shows very sharp and clear even at the full aperture. You can express the 'depth' in your photo using this Noctilux. However, because of its extremely thin depth of field, you may easily make photos in out of fucus.
The bokeh of the lights have slight frame, which I estimate the correction of spheical aberraion is a little too much.

Natural History Museum

The latest version of Noctilux which I had not used in Japan.
This non-aspherical lens is 200g heavier than f1.2 because f1.2 lens adopted alminium as lens body and the difference of using glass.
The expression is very sharp and shows very deep colors which may be more than f1.2 lens.
